Awesome Websites

Posted by brandonwayne24 on June 29, 2008

I’m going to try and link you to some great websites that I have found to be worth their weight in gold.

Starting with Download.com this is probably one of the best websites in the world. This is great if you are like me, you find a great program and you’re not sure if you are going to want to pay for it, so they offer demos on every program on the site.

Next we have some that are pretty self explanatory. We have ESPN, MTV, MySpace, YouTube, and CNN.com.

Photobucket is great for hosting files from pictures to video, and it’s completely free.

I love this website bspcn.com, they are still kind of new but they have some great content.

I’m sure like everyone else you want to know what you would look like if you were a Simpson. (I know I did)

The website with everything!

Yes I work here, and I love it. Eat there and you’ll love it to. I need to get some more commercials on here; we have the best commercials ever.

Steve Nash quits basketball, plays soccer next year!

Posted by brandonwayne24 on June 24, 2008

Not exactly, he will actually be joined by Baron Davis, Jason Kidd, Raja Bell and a few other NBA players as well as some pro soccer players in a soccer game that’s completely for charity.

It will be held in New York City tomorrow at 5:30.

The Suns have pretty much accepted that this is Steve’s way of staying in shape during the summer, which I think is a great way to do so. How ever I would love to see some of the NBA player who has never played soccer get out there a play for a while. I have always heard that Hakeem “the Dream” was great at it, as well as Tim Duncan.

“I can’t wait” Nash said. “Football and my foundation are two of my big passions and the chance to bring together guys like Thierry and Baron and Jason and Claudio…its going to be a lot of fun. And the best part is that it’s free to anyone who wants to come and watch us.”

Links for today, a little bit of everything

Posted by brandonwayne24 on June 24, 2008

Some day I want my magic to have a message like this. I know some times he can be corny but the more I see David Copperfield’s effects on YouTube, the more I’m beginning to see the kind of magic that I want to perform.

Here is something that mixes my two favorite things, magic and music.

I was going to keep this magic related but I’m in the mood to share some links with you guys tonight.

Now I hope you click on every link because I promise you will find something that amuses you, even if it’s only a little.

I have to admit that I’m a huge Andy Kaufman fan. Not a lot of people in my generation have even heard of him. I was lucky and my parents kept a lot of the old SNL seasons recorded. We were told by my dad to watch him and we have been hooked every since, so here he is doing one of his most famous bits. I admit you have to have a different kind of humor to understand him, but if you did have it, then you got to laugh with a great comic.

Female Mike Tyson, enough said!

This only bothers me for a couple of reasons, first because I know people like this. Secondly I’m not sure if this fake or not. But I can assure you that I know people, who might even be family who act just like this, that’s all I’m saying.

I love Jason Mraz, not in a weird warm fuzzy feeling kind of way, but in a cool guy way. I’m just going to be quite, enjoy the link.

This is something for the girls that are reading this right now.

Well that’s all for now, but Ill be back with some very soon trust me.

Top 5 NBA players ever

Posted by brandonwayne24 on June 24, 2008

At work we do top 5 list all of the time. About everything so I thought I would start posting some here and letting you guys decide and give your own opinions about my lists. With basketball being my favorite sport I wanted to start with the top five players of all time.

I understand there are going to be arguments on who were better Larry or Magic and things like that, so if you disagree with me, leave a comment and let me know.

This list was based on stats and rings, among a few other things. Let me explain a few things first. Wilt Chamberlin was not on this list simply because I know his stats were awesome but that’s were his greatness ended. When compared to Russell I think he was not that great of a winner. Again this is just my opinion. I will not lie and say this is list is not impartial; I will not hide that fact at all. But I tried my best to make it fair and I think this top five will be accepted among most people.

Here is my list, again feel free to discuss.

5. Larry Bird

He is considered one of the greatest Celtics ever, also known as the basketball Jesus to most of the people in Boston. Not to mention one of the top players from the 80’s. He was a 3 time MVP, 2 time NBA Finals MVP. He was voted to the all star team 12 times. Won 3 championships and won the rookie of the year award in 1980.

While he was considered a great out side shooter he could post you up down low and make you pay inside. I would probably say he was an under rated passer because he was thought of as such a great scorer.

With his rivalry against Magic Johnson he brought new fans to the game and brought the old ones back.

Magic4. Earvin “Magic” Johnson

Larry Bird is quoted as saying that Magic was heads and shoulders above everyone else. “I’ve never seen any one better than him”

As one of the tallest point guards in history, Magic could do it all. He could kill your team in so many ways. He posted your guard up and he blew by your big men. He could pass from anywhere on the court and from any angle. Behind the back, no look, scoop pass, and eyes closed. If it could be done with a ball magic could do it.

He spent 13 seasons with the Lakers, all except for one season was he not an all star. He won an amazing 5 titles, not to mention being voted 9 times to the all NBA team.

The Big O3. Oscar Robertson

For some reason when these lists are made, Robertson is left off by so many. I think it might be do to the fact that he only won one title. But I think beyond that he was the best all around player ever.

Playing 14 years in the league where he ended his career with 26,710 points. He is the only player in league history who averaged a triple double for an entire season. What most people do not know, is that he did that in just his second season. He just missed doing it again by one-tenth of a rebound per game in another season. His career stats are absolutely amazing.

  • 25.7 points
  • 7.5 rebounds
  • 9.5 assists
  • 44% FG
  • 84% FT
  • 1 time MVP

Bill Russell 2. Bill Russell

If you looked up winner in the dictionary I’m sure you would see the same picture that you are looking at right now. Not only did he win a astonishing 11 titles with the Celtic, but he was the league MVP 5 times. He averaged almost 23 rebounds a game for his career, having a one game where he pulled down 51 rebounds and 49 in two others. He had 12 consecutive seasons with a 1000 or more rebounds. He was a great shot blocker and one of the best defenders the league has seen.

Winning was every thing to Russell, not only as a player but he also got a title as a player-coach. While not the greatest scorer ever, only averaging 15 points a game for his career, some say if the Celtics would have needed him to score he could have easily doubled that average, his drive to win was that high. He would be found in the bath room throwing up before games, because of being so scared to lose. He was voted Greatest Player in the History of the NBA by the Professional Basketball Writers Association of America.

The free throw dunk1. Michael Jordan

There is not much that I can say that hasn’t been said about Michael a thousand times by other people. The only thing I can say is that he will always be my favorite player ever. He is what made me fall in love with the sport of basketball. I remember me and my brother Dustin watching the 1997 finals and during commercial breaks we would run outside and try our best to look like Jordan, our tongues sticking out, while twisting and contorting our bodies in air as we did our layups against invisible defenders like he did. We wanted to be him; we thought we could be him.

Even today we still talk about him like he’s still playing. Our greatest sports memories came from him. Whether it was him passing the ball to John Paxson to hit the game winning shot in the finals against the Barkley lead Suns, him crying like a baby while holding on to the championship trophy that he won with out his father being there for the first time, or the “flu” game, or even the shot over Byron Russell in the 98 finals. Everyone knows the stats, so I’m just going to leave it at this. Michael made it into more than just game when he played. Every thing was so much more; it was amped up through the roof. He was the greatest of my generation. He was a mixture of all the great players before him, and he leaves shoes that will never be filled.

Basketball fans unite!

Posted by brandonwayne24 on June 22, 2008

The Celtic and LakersI wanted to talk a little more about the Celtics and basketball in general. What a great way to end a great season. I would probably say it was one of the better seasons on a whole since I was a kid watching Michael Jordan’s every move and seeing him dominate an entire league.

We saw so many great teams this year, every one from the Hornets to the Blazers stepped up this year, making the play off race in the west one of the best ever. Just to come out on top in the west was like winning a championship in its self.

I was so happy to see Kevin Garnett win a ring after sticking it out with the Wolves for so long and not getting any where except the lottery.

I think we learned a lot about wanting something so badly ant not giving up the hope that one day you will achieve your goal. Garnett was the hardest playing, and most passionate player in the league, I’m just glad he finally got his ring.

In other basketball news, I want to see what kind of player Kobe Bryant is going to become. He was so close to getting the credit that he thought that he has deserved and most importantly he was coming out Michael Jordan’s shadow. Just to fall horribly short in the finals. He can either look at this in two ways or react in two ways. He can become a shell of his former self and jump off the top the Staples Center or he will use it as fire to become an even better player and team mate. I think now the Jordan comparisons will stop or at least they should. No other player will ever be able to this again or the way that he did it. So let’s see if Kobe can finally create his own legacy.

One last thing, if you truly love basketball then you must read this mans column. He is probably one of the funniest sports writers of our time. Not to mention he has had a great five or six years of sports. His name is Bill Simmons, also known as the sports guy. He is the biggest die hard sports fan, he’s from Boston, so of course he is obsessed with all of the Boston teams, Especially the Celtics. So the column I’m linking to is him talking about the Celtics and his dad. I have a good feeling Ill be talking about my own friend Steve like this when the Dallas Mavericks finally get their own championship. He has renewed his season tickets every year no matter how the Mavs did the year before. He is a true fan of the Mavs. Hopefully I will be able to go to a game next year. I know it kills him when he has to give one up. But you will not be hearing me complain. Especially when I’m cheering from his seats!

Its been awhile

Posted by brandonwayne24 on June 22, 2008

Hello all!

It has been a while since I have posted anything, so here go nothing. Lots of things have happened since I last posted a blog. This guy has made history. But this guy was here since the beginning of history. So it’s going to be interesting to see how it all turns out.

Also a little piece of sports history also occurred while I was gone. The famed Boston Celtics reclaimed their top spot in the N.B.A after not winning a championship since 1986. They collected their 17th championship after murdering the Lakers in six games, and it really shouldn’t have gone that far.

This guy won American Idol by actually being talented hmm who would’ve thunk it?

Well I’m going to go for now, Ill be posting more about Sonic Drive In a.k.a. my life. And giving you some more videos to check out

Clinton, ESPN, and everything else

Posted by brandonwayne24 on January 9, 2008

If this was me, I would crawl into a corner and cry like a baby. I can barely handle every day regular peppers. Not only does this guy get my ultimate respect for not crying on national TV. but he also took a second bite of hell, and walked away from it. You go boy

Don’t you hate it when you see a video of something that is so popular and every one is talking about it and kills you to know that if you would’ve camera around your kids. You would’ve been that viral video on YouTube getting your own TV. show like this kid. How does that happen? Has TV Really gotten that bad, for people to actually want to see him on TV every day? It kills me.

Has anyone watched American Gladiators yet? I was not sure about it at first, I guess because I grew up with the original. But the more we watch the new one, the more I like it. I’m not sure about how corny some of the contestants trash talking sounds, but over all I actually like it allot.

I hate this show. Nuff said

Please get all of this over with. I’m not sure who would be the best president. But I’m almost sure that I will like anyone who ends this war. Where I’m having trouble is with the fact that I like more than one candidate. Each one has quality’s that are better than some and then they all have their own unique problems. I can say absolutely nothing that has already been said before about Clinton, Obama, or any of the other candidates so I won’t. I will say this though, I feel bad that Hilary doesn’t have this to help her like her husband did, or else she would probably win it all.

One last thing before I go. Did anyone besides me watch a show that came on in the 90′s called Strange Luck? It starred D.B. Sweeney and was probably the best show to never get a second season. I only ask because that’s one show that when I mention it, no one ever knows what I’ am talk about. Comment and let me know

A little bit of this and a little bit of that

Posted by brandonwayne24 on January 8, 2008

If you want to read something completely depressing but most of shocking check this out, how could some one not have seen this coming? Surely there was a sign some where that said hey this might be a guy who needs to be locked up. I can’t believe I live so close to that town.

On to a little lighter subject, why didn’t I and my wife think of this? I wonder what even made them think of it. Just in case of you missed it, we like making our prisoners make license plates and making them stronger, that way when they get out they are better at what they do best. Sweet! But in the Philippines they do something a little bit different.

Is it time to start asking the Chicago Bulls to move out the record books to let the Celtics in? It’s amazing that Kevin Garnett can turn a complete franchise around in less than a season but all of a sudden Danny Ainge is GM of the year. It’s amazing what one year can do. Regardless I just want to see Kevin Garnett get a ring. Allot of guys always say that it doesn’t matter and they know they were great player without the rings. (Charles and Karl) but I could see it killing Garnett if he doesn’t get one. Can’t you imagine him completely exploding and going on a ten day killing spree or something?

Dare to inspire

Even if it’s just to tell some one you love them or maybe it will inspire you to be the spark that changes something that you don’t like in this world
