Where are the good songs

Will we ever have song writers like we used to, you know the ones that wrote classic songs that became apart of our hearts and became sound tracks to our life.
Are we going to have any more Billy Joel’s, Paul Simon’s, Elton John’s, Carol Kings, or James Taylor’s? Don’t get me wrong I love new music, I’m not one of those guys who is stuck on the music I grew up on. For one thing everyone I mentioned above was at the peaks of stardom before I was born. We have really good music right now, but it seems like we have lost our way when it comes to great song writing. We have good music just not great music.
Some times I think some one is going to step up and the shoes of those who have came and past but they get close but never seem to make it. I had high hopes For John Legend and Alicia Keys to take the baton from the great Ray Charles but both seem to have fallen a little short.
Please send me a link to some one new that is going to be giving us some classic music that we will listen to for next hundred years or so. I miss that feeling of hearing something new for the first time and knowing that it’s going to be a classic. I think the last time I had that feeling about an artist was Dave Matthews, but even then he is just a personal favorite. Not some one that every one is going to love more than life its self lol !
So if you can help me out. Until then Ill be searching for the next great thing
